چکیده

Abstract Background A dentigerous cyst (DC) is a pathology embracing the crown of an unerupted tooth at risk malignant transformation. The causal usually removed together with cyst. However, if there are orthodontic contraindications for extraction, two questions arise. (1) Which factors favor spontaneous eruption? (2) imply necessity applying traction? This systematic review aimed to identify conducive/inconducive eruption teeth after marsupialization. Methods In accordance PRISMA guidelines, main research question was defined in PICO format (P: patients cysts; I: surgical DC treatment; C: lack O: determining potentially influencing eruption). MEDLINE, EMBASE, and Cochrane Central Register Controlled Trials databases were searched keywords combining dentigerous/odontogenic/follicular cysts and/or orthodontics, as well human patterns/intervals/periods/durations. following data extracted from qualified articles (4 out 3005 found initially): rate treatment cyst, age sex patients, perpendicular projection distance between top cusp edge alveolar process, angulation, root formation stage, area, space. subjected bias quality analyses ROBINS-I protocol modified Newcastle–Ottawa QAS, respectively. Meta-analyses performed both fixed random effects models. GRADE approach used evaluate evidence. registered PROSPERO under ID CRD42020189044. Results Nearly 62% DC-associated premolars erupted spontaneously marsupialization/decompression. Young (mean = 10 years) not exceeding 1/2 its fully developed length likely eruption. Conclusion small number published studies, their heterogeneity critical bias, did allow creation evidence-based protocols managing More high-quality needed draw more reliable conclusions.

Decompression/marsupialization (D/M) is the most implemented treatment, especial...
